Air-2-Fiber

How Does it work

The core of the 3G Consulting network is Fiber Optic. Using a combination of Telkom, Neotel and Dark Fiber Africa. This core then extends internationally via Seacom and SAT3 connections. 3G Consulting is adding more nodes throughout the country extending to our existing wireless towers, effectively we bring the fiber to you and carry the last mile only on wireless. An Air-2-Fiber connection typically involves the last mile only, limiting latency, and delivering Fiber Optic Speeds to your front door. The last mile is capable of more than 100 Mbps Full duplex.

Air-2-Fiber Explained

Delivery of fiber solution can take time. Wayleaves need to be applied for, sub-contractors come in and tear up the pavement, etc. In our model we supply the wireless solution immediately while at the same time apply for the fiber node. If your node is in a viable area for further distribution, we can contribute to the cost of having that fiber by selling components of it to neighbours and nearby parties. This has no effect on your own security and we guarantee no compromise to your data speed, security or integrity. All fiber nodes are done in this manner, just you are not always aware of the participation and don't share in the the rewards

What is Hi-Speed

Hi-Speed is an alternative product to replace Telkom Diginet. It's a full-duplex service. Priced to compete with the Diginet options, the major differences are no contract periods and no contentions.
Note:We offer very specific connection types. Making it easier and more economical to cost links. You buy your links as legs. Local legs that run through our fiber networks. So if there are 2 branches in one area, they would be linked with 2 local legs. If you have say 4 national branches, you can buy one national leg and share that one national leg with 4 local legs to each branch. In doing this, you control your own contention on the national legs.

3G Consulting And Broadband

With 3G consulting, our wireless broadband service, is targeted at the business type user. We offer uncapped broadband services from 1mbps up to Gigabit speed, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and wireless, air to fibre and fiber links. We manage our broadband services to ensure the links are clear of bottlenecking activities like virus, spam distribution and illegal P2P/BitTorrent traffic. By managing these bottleneck areas and offering properly managed email solutions, our broadband service remains secure and uncapped and efficient. Business benefit by having a fixed cost, unlimited access and efficient speeds 24 hours a day. Internet access has always been a stumbling block in South Africa for small to medium-sized businesses. We have identified that businesses require a link that is stable, always online and filled with services designed to improve the performance of the company. We designed our broadband services around business needs. Offering a full-time uncapped service for all standard internet type activities. Providing a low cost uncapped service has been challenging. We have only been able to achieve it by carefully monitoring usage and preventing access to suspicious activities. We found that businesses are trying to cut back on other expenses as well. Services like VoIP and VPNs form a major part of business activities, and business users have taken advantage of ADSL to try and accomplish this with some limited success. We have tried as far as possible to extend our network to cover the major business regions and offer alternative solutions that work more efficiently. For this reason we have separated our services to those of strictly broadband browsing services, VPN services and VoIP services. Making each of these services separately available and independently efficient. Although our services is uncapped, we do not allow services like Peer to Peer for illegal downloads. We monitor for virus activities and block outgoing SPAM or Email 'Bombs'. Instead we provide efficient mail distribution services.
